The Saint Vincent De Paul Society
St Anthony's has a small and friendly SVDP group. We are always looking for new faces, so please introduce yourself.
What We Do
There are many local people with needs ~ SVDP can often help. Visits to folk living on their own or families in need ~ these are the mainstays of what we do. If you can spare a little time, you'll be amazed at what you get back. The appreciation of folk when they receive even a short visit is enormous. Sometimes assistance is requested in material ways such as household goods. If you know of anyone who would appreciate a visit or some help from SVDP, please let one of St Anthony's SVDP members know. Or Fr Allison or Fr Cyril will pass the word.
Who We Are
Ordinary folk from St Anthony's parish in Springhall. May O'Donnell, Peter McKeown, Tom Lafferty and Michael O'Hara. We meet most Thursday evenings after holy mass for a brief update and plan visits if needed. Please join us. Come along and you'll be made most welcome. If curious, pop along and ask any questions at all. We need people like you.
One Hundred Percent
SVDP is the only charity which ensures that every penny given (red boxes after mass) goes to deserving causes. No administration fees, no overheads, it's all for the needy of the parish.
Household Goods
St Anthony's has an affiliation with the SVDP Easterhouse Project. This means that your donations of household goods will always find a grateful home, if not in Rutherglen, then in the East end of Glasgow. Everything appreciated.
Feast Day
St Vincent De Paul's day is 27 September.

Sea Side
Each September, a bus trip to the sea side for our parish seniors takes place. In 2005, we went to Largs. Then, in 2006, we went to Largs. Then in 2007, after much consideration, we decided on....Largs. For future events, all suggestions welcome.
